![]() There are updates to the Emulator coming so who knows. There are some that struggle but it's been pretty good, and Switch Emulation is about 2/3rd speed. I can run most emulators up to and through WiiU and PS3. This allows me to play most modern PC games, the ones that require AVX2 instructions won't run. So I'm into this PC for about $250 total. I lucked out and found a brand new GTX 1060 6gb for $120 before the market went crazy. I found a cheap SSD for $20 and the PC came with a 1tb HD. I then found a 12gb kit (3x4gb triple channel memory) and installed that for $25. Using Techpowerup Throttlestop I can adjust this to an all core boost of 4.13ghz, but 4ghz is a little more stable. I found this local for $50, I then Upgraded the CPU to a Xeon W3680. I took a Dell T3500 Xeon X58 Chipset Desktop. You could then jump into the pricing I did for used parts. You will be able to do 3ds and depending upon your CPU you may be on the edge of WiiU and PS3 Emulation but chances are you should be able to do some WiiU but no much PS3 3d games. MT Dell + GTX 960 you are looking at ~$150. But for now a GTX960 would be a good fit. The MT will allow more options for GPUs and right now that market even on second hand is a little crazy. ETA Prime Dell Workstation you would probably be better off using a MT Dell Workstation and not the SFF cases. Which is similar to Retropie but built for X86 architecture CPUs. If you want to hit PS2 and Maybe GC/Wii then you can try finding an old Dell or HP Workstation PC and use Batocera Linux. Here's ETA Prime Reviewing the RPI4 for Emulation. Which is going to give you some good bang for the buck. It really depends what you want and your cost.įor DC, PS1 and older I believe a RPI4 OCd can do them all for $80. You will also need an Nvidia GTX 1650 Super or higher and stay away from AMD GPUs as they don't have good OpenGL drivers and Citra and Yuzu will have issues, and in my case I had issues with PCSX2 too.Īlso those curious about hardware and the cost it takes to emulate the systems and to elaborate on the original post. Need high clock speeds too so Intel has always been the best or the Ryzen 5600x is good too. If you want the top tiers then you need to be looking at Ryzen 3600 or newer or I7/I5 with 6 cores and 12 threads. Look up BSoD Gaming's Setup Video on YouTube. You need a very high end pc for these two. ![]() ( Yuzu - Nintendo Switch Emulator) ( Yuzu Bsod Setup)/( Ryujinx - Nintendo Switch Emulator) ( Ryujinx Bsod Setup)( Boost Performance) Yuzu is relatively faster but Ryujinx is more compatible. People say it's very GPU intense and requires a 1080/2070/3060ti or better. ( Xenia - Xbox 360 Research Emulator ) ( Setup) Some say it's playable but others say it's still got a lot of work so I personally stay away. ( RPCS3 - PlayStation 3 Emulator) ( Bsod Gaming Setup) Now you are going into higher and tougher to emulate above that tier and will start to require a more powerful PC to use. ( DS Emulator ) ( Setup) A bit old but im very glad with this emulator ( Citra - Nintendo 3DS Emulator) ( Setup) See issues below on AMD cards/iGPU ( Dolphin Emulator) ( Setup) Even though the core and support is in Retroarch it's just better to use the standalone version. ( Redream - Dreamcast Emulator) ( Setup) Redream is very simple to use and highly recommended.
